Harbor Springs Robotics Team: Headed to World Championship
The HS High School Robotics team has qualified for the World Championship
With all the news of ice storms recently, we figured it was time for a different sort of story. The Harbor Springs High School FIRST Robotics team has qualified to compete in the FIRST Robotics World Championship next week in Houston.
Help our Harbor Springs Robotics team get to Houston…
FIRST Robotics
The FIRST Robotics Competition, For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, was founded by visionary inventor Dean Kamen in 1989 with the goal of inspiring young people to embrace science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The competition was designed not only to provide students with hands-on engineering experience but also to encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation. Over the decades, FIRST has grown into a global phenomenon, uniting over 600 teams from around the world and empowering students to build real machines, code complex systems, and tackle challenges that mirror those in the tech industry and beyond.
For Harbor Springs High School's robotics team, this journey is more than a contest; it's an education in resilience, creativity, and leadership. Participating in FIRST Robotics offers students the chance to experience the full spectrum of STEM benefits: developing technical expertise, learning the value of collaboration, and cultivating the mindset needed to innovate in an ever-changing world. How might engaging more students in hands-on STEM challenges today influence our technological advancements in the future?
Your generous support through our GoFundMe page will not only help cover essential travel and competition costs but also foster the next generation of engineers and problem-solvers. Every donation propels these young innovators closer to showcasing their talents on the world stage and building the future of STEM.
Harbor Springs Team
The various high school teams design and build robots to compete in this year’s theme of challenges focused on harvesting algae, seeding coral on their reef, and returning to their barge to ascend to the ocean surface.
The Harbor Springs team, “FRC7790 Baywatch Robotics” have a website, Instagram and a YouTube channel that showcases their efforts.
The team needs to raise funds to attend. They have a GoFundMe page.
