WLHS: Letter to City Council #1
All appointments to Board and Commissions should be new volunteers
It’s time for you to send an email to the City Council.
The City Council is making Board and Commission appointments on Monday, December 16th.
The Message to City Council
We Love Habor Springs believes the City Council should only appoint new volunteers to the various Boards and Commissions. This would bring new ideas and diversify the decision-making process.
478 Voters voted to repeal the new zoning, as well as electing a new mayor and City Council
Boards and Commissions should reflect the shift in thinking by the voters
If the planning commission keeps the same members, we may repeat some of the same mistakes
Take Action

Dear City Council,
I believe given the unprecedented repeal of the City Zoning and change in city leadership that this year, City Council should only appoint new volunteers who have not served on Boards or Commission in the past.
I support the We Love Harbor Springs recommendation that this would bring in new ideas, balance and diversify the decision-making process. Boards and Commissions should reflect the shift in thinking by the voters.
Please include this email in the Council Agenda Package for the Monday December 16th meeting.
I am a City Voter, Resident or Community Member who resides at XXX
I am especially in support of adding non-voter tax paying property owner representation positions to each board that represent the second home owners and I support seeking young people representation to each board. City governance is meaningful and has a place for everyone!
